Abstract Details (PID = P147) |
Title: | Engaging Students through Materials Science [6-12] (P147) |
Description: | Materials Science is a combination of chemistry, physics and engineering by looking at solid materials. Students learn about the world around them by examining the properties, behavior, and structure of metals, ceramics, polymers and composites using low cost hands-on inquiry based labs. Teachers attending this session will learn about free teacher camps, how these labs fit with NGSS and state standards, and practical applications for science concepts. Come and see why this was the best PD I ever attended for my own science classroom. [Intended Audience: Both MS and HS] |
