Title:National Geographic's Geo-Inquiry Process in Action (P134)
Description:National Geographic invites you to empower students to think like explorers. Join us for a hands-on session to learn how the Geo-Inquiry Process connects students to real-world questions, phenomena, and National Geographic explorers in the field. Partner with scientists, adventurers, and storytellers and discover how to connect and captivate students in authentic, engaging, and experiential STEM based learning. In this highly interactive session, participants will be introduced to the Geo-Inquiry Process - an exciting process that connects students to real-world questions, National Geographic explorers, and components of civic action. Educators learn strategies to help students ask questions, collect information, create visuals of data, develop a compelling story using photography and videography tips, and ultimately become advocates for change in their community. National Geographic Education strives to ensure teacher needs are met in our professional development sessions through authentic, experiential and real-world resources. Based on our past experience we know the importance of providing educators with information you can immediately use in your classrooms. The Geo-Inquiry Process is designed to inspire educators to teach students about the world in innovative, experiential and authentic ways. Come and explore how you, your students, and your school can partner with National Geographic to investigate and change the world. (Exhibitor/Vendor presentation from National Geographic.)
