Oaks ecosystems are a critical part of the Illinois landscape, but this plant family has a wide range, with conservation projects taking place throughout the world. Learn more about The Morton Arboretum's Forest Immersion Program, which is part of both the education and global tree conservation program at The Morton Arboretum. Discover opportunities for you to travel with arboretum experts to remote field locations and learn about tree conservation IN THE FIELD. This past March, eight chicago-area educators traveled with Morton Arboretum staff to the Cloud Forest of Costa Rica to learn about biodiversity and tree conservation projects taking place in this remote part of the world. This coming summer, there is another learning opportunity for educators to travel to the Baja peninsula of Mexico to learn about oak conservation in this part of the world. During this session, educators will learn more about this program and the upcoming travel opportunity, along with details on the application process. |
