Abstract Details (PID = P146)
Title:Chocolate! (K-5 Welcome) (P146)
Description:Dark, milk, white, sweetened, and unsweetened; chocolate has long been a favorite of many. It is estimated that in the United States each person eats about 11 pounds of chocolate a year. Using a three-dimensional approach for teaching, the pedagogical basis for the Next Generation Science Standards, is valuable instruction and lends itself to an interdisciplinary approach. Participants will engage in hands on activities that include investigating interactions of organisms within an ecosystem and traits of chocolate, as well as mathematics, language arts, and geography.
