Abstract Details (PID = P177)
Title:Monarch Butterfly Ecological Engineering Project (P177)
Description:Last year, J. S. Morton HS District 201 students began by using scientific inquiry to study the biodiversity of a current school garden and then they used the engineering design process (EDP) to design a new and improved garden. Students designed, budgeted, and created the 5,000 square foot the Monarch Waystation all from scratch. This year, the two gardens were used as outdoor education spaces by more teachers and we hope to expand to even more student designed gardens in the spring.
