Abstract Details (PID = P170)
Title:STEM and the Scream: Harnessing Horror in the Classroom (P170)
Description:From robot overlords to zombie pandemics to good-old-fashioned alien invasions, students are bombarded with ideas about the end of the world. STEM Read and our collaborators have fed on the fun of the freak out and turned terror into teachable moments. At this interactive session, we'll play some of the STEM games and activities we've created around new and classic horror as we make a case for horror as a way to ensnare both ravenous and reluctant learners.
