Description: | Agriculture and food processing is the largest industry in Illinois and is a great avenue to bring scientific concepts to life for your students! In this session hosted by DuPage County Farm Bureau - Ag in the Classroom, participants will learn about dent corn production and uses and join in our hands-on selective breeding activity. Using the context of corn plants, participants will model the process of selective breeding with Starbursts to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of this breeding technique with real world applications. |
